Pocket boothIdea by ZeroCapture

The kitchen-table booth

The smallest booth there is: a phone on a mini tripod, a pop-up green screen on a table or chair, and the remote in someone’s pocket. Good for a small birthday or a stall.

What you need, how to set it up, what to try

What you need

  • A phone (or any small Android device) and a mini tripod
  • A pop-up or collapsible green screen, about 1 m across
  • The Bluetooth remote
  • A lamp or window light falling evenly on the screen

How to set it up

  1. Stand the screen 1 m behind where people sit or stand, so their shadows miss it.
  2. Put the phone at eye height, 1.5 to 2 m in front, and run the green-screen calibration.
  3. Turn on QR sharing so guests can take their photo home on the home Wi-Fi.

What to try

  • Pass the remote round: whoever holds it takes the photo.
  • Use Two up for a before-and-after of the same pose.

A headshot corner

One person at a time, a 1.5 m screen on a frame, one soft light and the device at eye height. For staff photos, speaker headshots, profile pictures and “meet the team” pages.

What you need, how to set it up, what to try

What you need

  • A 1.5 m green screen on a frame

  1. Seat people 1 m in front of the screen, light from the front and slightly to one side.
  2. Choose the Single layout and turn the event caption off.
  3. Set photos to true to life (unmirrored), so text on clothing reads the right way round.

What to try

Home partyIdea by ZeroCapture

The living-room party booth

A green sheet or screen on a living-room wall, the device on a stand, the remote passed round, and photos on guests’ phones before they leave.

What you need, how to set it up, what to try

What you need

  • A green sheet or screen, pulled tight to avoid creases
  • A stand for the device
  • The remote
  • Two lamps aimed at the screen

How to set it up

  1. Iron or stretch the sheet: creases make shadows the key has to work around.
  2. Light the screen evenly, then calibrate with everyone out of shot.
  3. Turn on QR sharing on the home Wi-Fi.

What to try

  • A Garden party or Blush skin for a softer look.
  • Strip of three for a classic photo-booth strip.

Kids’ partyIdea by ZeroCapture

Kids’ party in space

Camera low, a parent on the remote, bright backdrops (space, jungle, under the sea) and a box of props. Short countdown, beeps on.

What you need, how to set it up, what to try

What you need

  • A green screen big enough for three or four children
  • The device on a stand at children’s eye height
  • The remote, in a grown-up’s hand
  • A box of props (nothing green or shiny)

How to set it up

  1. Lower the device so it looks at the children, not down on them.

What to try

  • Grid of four catches four poses in one go.

Second-screen galleryIdea by ZeroCapture

A second-screen gallery

A second device (any device with a web browser, or a TV’s browser) beside the booth, where guests browse today’s photos while others pose. On Personal and White label the booth serves a “Today’s photos” page itself over the same Wi-Fi, with no Cloud or account, in the event’s screen style: a plain grid or a Mosaic wall, and on White label a Spotlight slideshow, a Carousel or Polaroids too, each new photo arriving full screen with its QR code. With ZeroCapture Cloud, a client gallery has the same live screen online, anywhere with internet. Otherwise, the gallery is on the booth device itself.

What you need, how to set it up, what to try

What you need

  • A second device or a TV with a web browser, on the same Wi-Fi as the booth

How to set it up

  1. On Personal or White label, turn on Sharing > Today’s photos and open its link or QR code on the second device.
  2. Leave it beside the booth: new photos appear at the top as they are taken, and guests can scan a photo’s QR code to take it home.
  3. On Free: set the booth gallery to show all photos, and let guests browse it between turns.

What to try

  • Pick the event’s screen style in Events, then Edit, and tap Preview to see it before guests arrive.
  • Turn off the QR codes on Today’s photos for a TV that is only a display.
  • With Cloud, open the client gallery’s live screen on a TV in another room, or put the gallery’s QR code on a table card so guests can find it later.

Venue boothIdea by ZeroCapture

A permanent venue booth

A booth that lives in a bar, restaurant, family attraction or holiday park: a wall-mounted device, a fixed green panel, always on, in Club mode so guests see only the camera and the shutter, with the venue’s branding on every photo’s stamp and nothing kept longer than you choose.

Cosplay shots for AI artwork

Community

Booths people have built.

Setups sent in by operators and hosts, newest first. Every one is checked by a person before it appears.

No community setups yet: yours could be the first. Share your setup

Props

Give guests something to hold.

Nothing green, and nothing shiny or mirrored: green props vanish into the backdrop, and shiny ones reflect the screen.

Buy or make your own props. Ideas that work: silly glasses, hats and wigs, signs and speech bubbles on sticks, feather boas, inflatable instruments, hand-held frames, moustaches on sticks.

  • Matte props in strong colours key cleanly.
  • Hold props in front of the body, not out against the screen.
  • Let the guests do the posing: put the props out and step back.

Built something worth copying?

Send us your setup: a photo of the rig, a photo made with it and a few lines on how you did it. We check every one before it goes up, and credit you with the handles you choose. In the app, Admin > Plan & help > Get setup ideas and share yours brings you here.
