Who we are

ZeroCapture (“we”) makes the ZeroCapture Studio app and runs zerocapturestudio.com and ZeroCapture Cloud. ZeroCapture is a trading name of UK AI GROUP LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15301459), whose registered office is 11 Stubbs Close, Billingham, England, TS23 3GH. You can reach us at contact@zerocapturestudio.com. These terms apply when you use the app, buy a plan or a pack in it, redeem a kit licence code or use ZeroCapture Cloud. How we handle personal data is in our privacy policy.

The app and its plans

  • Free, Personal and White label. What each plan includes is on the plans page. Plans are bought in the app through Google Play, under Google Play’s terms; Google takes the payment, and refunds follow Google Play’s policy. A Google Play purchase covers every device signed in to the Google account that bought it.
  • Who each plan is for. Personal is for your own private events: family parties and celebrations. Any business use needs White label, including venues (hotels, bars, restaurants, event spaces) running a booth for their guests at their own events, even when the photos are free.
  • Ads on Free. Free is ad supported: the first 10 photos each day are ad-free, then a short ad shows after every fifth photo, and every third time the plans are offered instead. Personal and White label have no ads. The ads come from Google (see the privacy policy).
  • Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in Google Play. Cancelling stops the next payment; the plan lasts until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Using the app fairly. Don’t try to get round the plans’ limits, copy or resell the app, or use it to break the law or anyone’s rights. You’re responsible for the photos taken with your booth and for the events you run with it.

Content packs

Content packs are backdrops, frames, layouts and sounds bought once inside the app with Google Play. No plan includes content packs, White label included: every pack is bought separately, on any plan, and stays yours whatever happens to your plan.

The pack licence. Packs are licensed, not sold. Buying a pack gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use its backdrops, frames, layouts, sounds and stickers inside ZeroCapture Studio, on every device signed in to your Google account, in the photos you take with the app, including at paid events. You may not extract, copy, share, resell or redistribute a pack's files, or use them outside the app. Photos you take with a pack are yours. Refunds follow Google Play's policy; a refunded pack is removed from your devices.

ZeroCapture Cloud

  • The subscription. ZeroCapture Cloud is an optional add-on, bought in the app as a Google Play subscription and used with a free ZeroCapture account (signed in with Google, or with an email address and password). It never changes your plan, and kits don’t include it.
  • How long things are kept. Each photo is deleted from the cloud 90 days after it was uploaded. If your subscription ends, your cloud stays read-only for 30 days so you can restore what you want to a device, then everything stored in it is deleted. We email the account’s address once, 7 days before that deletion. Nothing Cloud does ever deletes files on your devices, so keep the copies you need.
  • Your responsibilities. You decide what is photographed, uploaded and shared. Tell your guests that photos are stored online (the booth shows a notice while Cloud is on) and get any consent your event needs. Don’t upload anything unlawful, or anything you don’t have the right to share.
  • Changing size. A change of size or period starts straight away. A bigger size is charged now, with the unused time on your current size credited; a smaller size, or a switch between monthly and yearly, is charged from your next renewal date. Google Play takes the payment.
  • Ending it. You can cancel in Google Play at any time, and delete your Cloud account in the app or at zerocapturestudio.com/account/delete. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we’ll tell you why unless the law stops us.

Data processing terms for Cloud operators

This section is the agreement between you, as a Cloud operator, and UK AI GROUP LTD, for the personal data in the photos and event details you store in Cloud. It is part of these terms and applies whenever you use Cloud.

  • Roles. For the photos and event details you store in Cloud, you are the controller and we are your processor. For your own Cloud account (your user id, your email address and name, and your devices), we are the controller, as the privacy policy describes.
  • What we process, and why. Photos of the people at your events, and the event details you enter (name, date, location, caption), stored for you, shown on your online photo pages and client galleries, and restored to your devices. We process them only to provide Cloud to you, following your instructions, which are these terms and the settings you choose in the app.
  • For how long. As set out above: each photo for 90 days from upload, and everything for at most 30 days after your subscription ends. When you delete photos, events or your account, we delete them from the cloud.
  • Confidentiality and security. Only the people who need to, to run the service, can reach your data, and they are bound to keep it confidential. Files are stored privately and encrypted at rest; online pages use unguessable links, optional gallery passwords and rate limits; and every request to your cloud must be signed in as your account.
  • Sub-processors. Cloudflare (file storage, in the EU), Google Cloud and Firebase (account and records, in London) and Vercel (hosting the service). You authorise us to use them. We’ll update this list here before adding or replacing one, and you may object by writing to us; if we can’t resolve it, you can cancel Cloud. Each is bound to protect the data at least as well as these terms require, and any transfer outside the UK is protected as the privacy policy describes.
  • Helping you. You can find, download and delete your guests’ photos yourself in the app. Where you need more to answer a guest’s request or to meet your own obligations, we’ll help you within a reasonable time.
  • Breaches. If a breach affects your data, we’ll tell you without undue delay, with what we know and what we’re doing about it.
  • Information and audits. We’ll give you the information you reasonably need to show that these terms are met, and answer reasonable questions in writing.
  • At the end. When Cloud ends, your data is deleted as set out above, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your photos

Photos you take with the app are yours, including those made with pack content. We claim no rights in them. While you use Cloud, you let us store, copy and show them only as needed to provide it to you.

Our responsibility to you

  • We make the app, the website and Cloud with reasonable care and skill, but we can’t promise they will always be available or free of faults, or that an event will go as planned. Keep your own copies of photos that matter.
  • If you’re a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content and services that are faulty or not as described, and nothing in these terms affects them.
  • If you use the app for a business, we aren’t responsible for lost profits, lost business or lost opportunities, and our total liability in any year is limited to what you paid us, through Google Play or this website, in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow to be limited.

Changes, and the law

We may update these terms when the app or the law changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and for a change that matters to you we’ll say so in the app or by email before it applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute; if you’re a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there.
