ZeroCapture Cloud

For every plan.

On this page

ZeroCapture Cloud is an optional add-on on any plan: Free, Personal or White label. It's a Google Play subscription you buy in the app, in 50 GB, 250 GB or 1 TB, monthly or yearly. It isn't sold on the website and isn't included in kits.

Cloud is switched on by ZeroCapture. The Dashboard's This booth says ZeroCapture Cloud: live or ZeroCapture Cloud: coming soon.

What it does

  • Uploads your photos, by event, and keeps each one online for 90 days from upload.
  • Online QR codes. An online code opens the photo on zerocapturestudio.com, so guests' phones need any internet, not the booth's Wi-Fi. Links last 30 days by default, never more than the photo's 90 days, and you can stop them at any time.
  • Backs up your backdrops, frames and collections, and restores them, and any event's photos, to a new device.
  • Client galleries: a web page per event to send to your client, with an optional password and an end date (90 days by default). On White label it shows only your branding; on Free and Personal it's in ZeroCapture's look, with "Powered by ZeroCapture Studio" at the bottom. If White label ends, galleries keep working in ZeroCapture's look. Clients can view and download single photos.
  • Counts: how many times each link and gallery was viewed and downloaded. Nothing else about guests is kept.

Getting started

  1. Open admin > Cloud and tap Sign in. You need a free ZeroCapture account (Google or email); your plan never needs one.
  2. Choose a size in the Store on its Cloud tab, or in Cloud. The subscription belongs to your ZeroCapture account, so every device signed in to it gets Cloud.
  3. For each event, open Events, tap its cloud button and choose Online or Offline (Wi-Fi) under QR codes. New events start with Cloud > QR codes for new events.

Good to know

  • Photos are always saved on the device first. They upload when there's internet and keep trying until they do. Turn on Upload on Wi-Fi only to save mobile data.
  • Boomerangs and videos stay on the device unless you turn on Upload boomerangs and videos, or use Upload clips now after the event. A boomerang's GIF uploads with it, and comes back with it when you restore.
  • Seeing what's online. A small Cloud chip on every admin section shows uploads ("All uploaded", "Uploading 3"); tap it to open Cloud, with the Upload queue and Upload log. Photos, backdrops and frames show a small cloud mark: filled when online, an arrow while waiting, crossed out when not online.
  • Restoring. Cloud > In the cloud lists every event your account has stored, from every device. Choose what you want and tap Restore to this device.
  • When storage is full, uploads pause and photos keep saving on the device. Delete files in the cloud, or choose a bigger size.
  • If your subscription ends, the cloud is read-only for 30 days: you can restore or delete, but uploads stop and online links and galleries stop working. After 30 days everything in your cloud is deleted. Photos on your devices are never touched.
  • Deleting your account (Cloud > Delete account) erases your cloud within 24 hours. Files on your devices are kept.

Telling guests

While photos upload or online QR codes are on, the booth shows Photos are stored online for 90 days. on the attract and result screens. You can reword it in Timing & wording but not remove it. You're still responsible for telling guests and getting any consent your event needs, so put up a sign as well.
