Allow the camera
The first time the app opens, it shows The booth needs the camera. Tap Allow camera, then allow it in the Android prompt. If camera access was turned off earlier, the button says Open settings instead. Tap it, turn camera access on for the app, then come back.
The setup guide
Next, a short setup guide walks you through eight steps: placing the booth, connecting the remote, keying the green screen, choosing an admin PIN, a step for your plan, and naming your first event. It takes about three minutes.
- You can skip any step with Skip this step, or the rest with Skip setup, and finish later in admin. The one step you can't skip is choosing an admin PIN: while it is still 1234, Skip setup takes you to that step first.
- The PIN must be 4 digits and can't be 1234. Note down the recovery code it shows.
- Afterwards a quick tour points out each control on the booth. A remote press moves the tour on and never takes a photo.
To see either again, open admin > Plan & help and use Run the setup guide again or Show the booth tour again.
Open admin
Admin is where you set everything up. It's protected by the admin PIN.
- On the booth, tap the small faint gear in the top-right corner.
- Enter the PIN on the PIN pad.
Admin opens on the Dashboard: your plan, anything that needs you, and today's photo counts. A wrong PIN shakes the dots and says That PIN didn't match. After 5 wrong PINs in a row the pad makes you wait 30 seconds.
Change the PIN and the recovery code
The default admin PIN is 1234. Anyone who knows it can get into admin, so change it before your first event (the setup guide asks you to). The recovery code is different on every booth: the setup guide shows it, and so does Booth defaults > Locking (tap Show). Note it down and keep it with the booth.
- In admin, open Booth defaults.
- Under Locking, next to Admin PIN, tap Change PIN.
- Enter a new PIN of 4 to 8 digits under New PIN, enter it again under Type it again, and tap Save PIN.
- Next to Recovery code, tap Change recovery code.
- Enter exactly 8 digits, enter them again, and tap Save code.
Write the PIN down somewhere safe. Keep the recovery code with the booth's paperwork, away from the device. If you forget the PIN, see Forgotten admin PIN.
Finding your way round admin
The sections come in five groups: Overview, Camera and content, Photos and events, Booth, and Plan and account. The Store has its own highlighted card near the top. Tap a group's name to open or close it.
- In landscape, the sections are listed on the left.
- In portrait, and on a phone, tap the button at the top left to open the menu, then pick a section.
- The back arrow returns to the section you were on.
- Back to booth leaves admin. Admin locks itself every time you leave it, and after 5 minutes with nobody touching it.
Each section has a ? that opens its help article. Start with Dashboard and Booth defaults.
