What guests can do

For every plan.

On this page

Everything here can be turned on or off under Booth defaults > Guests can change (see Booth defaults).

Backdrop, frame and layout

Along the bottom of the booth is the tray, with a Backdrop / Frame / Layout switch and a row of prints. A tap applies one straight away. When you have two or more collections, the Backdrop and Layout tabs show a card per collection; a tap opens it, and All collections goes back.

With a backdrop chosen, Adjust lets guests pinch to zoom and drag to move the backdrop behind them, and change its Blur, Brightness, Contrast and Saturation. Reset goes back to your settings and Done closes it. Guests' changes last until the booth goes back to its defaults; they never change your saved settings.

Smile sound and stickers

  • The music note at the top left lets guests pick a smile sound to play before each photo, or Off.
  • With the sticker step on, guests add stickers after each photo, before it's saved. They tap a sticker to add it, drag to move it, pinch to resize and twist to turn it, then press Done (or the remote). Clear all removes them. The sticker button at the top turns the step on or off for their own photos. The booth comes with three sticker collections (Balloon Letters, Photo Props and Reactions & Doodles), and sticker packs add more. See Stickers.

The gallery button (top left) opens the photos guests may see, newest first. Choose which events it shows in Events. Tapping a photo opens it large; guests swipe between photos and can pinch to zoom in (up to 4x) on a photo, drag it around while zoomed, and double tap to zoom in or back out. While a photo is zoomed in, swiping moves it; at its edge, or zoomed out, swiping changes photo. Boomerangs and videos don't zoom. Guests can also:

  • Share it through Android's share sheet.
  • QR code to download it to their phone (while QR sharing is on).
  • SMS or Email to send it to themselves (White label, when set up; see Sending photos by SMS and Emailing guests their photos).
  • Print it through Android's print dialog.
  • Edit it (photos only).

Editing a photo

Edit opens the editor: Crop (with shapes and rotate), Adjust (Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Warmth) and Stickers, with Undo and Redo. Save asks whether to Overwrite the photo or Save as a copy. Overwrite asks for the admin PIN first, so only you can replace a photo (turn off Overwrite needs the admin PIN in Booth defaults to let anyone); Save as a copy never asks. A copy never uses one of Free's daily photos. On Free the photo mark is drawn again on the edited photo. To stop guests editing, turn off Edit photos in the gallery.

With Booth defaults > Consent > Consent screen on, the first press of a session shows a card in your own words before the countdown. Guests tap the agree button, or press the remote, to agree and start the photo. The decline button or Back closes the card and takes no photo. Consent lasts until the booth goes back to its defaults or shows the attract screen, so a group agrees once. Each agreement is recorded on the device for the event; set the words in Booth defaults.

Packs you don't have yet

The tray also shows backdrop, frame, layout and sticker packs that aren't on this device, each with a padlock. A tap shows what's in the pack, with Buy or Download. Both ask for the admin PIN, so only you can buy or download; guests never see a price. To hide them, turn off Packs you don't have yet. For a children's party, Only stickers made for children in Stickers shows only stickers made for children. See Content packs.
