Events group photos by occasion, such as a wedding or a party, so guests only see their own event's photos. Create one before guests arrive and new photos go into it.
Creating an event
Tap New event and fill in:
- Event name: up to 40 characters.
- Date: optional. Tap to choose a day.
- Location: optional, up to 60 characters. As you type, places from OpenStreetMap appear under the field; tap one to use it. With no internet, just type it.
- Caption: optional, up to 120 characters. It is printed into the bottom of photos while this is the current event, so photos already taken keep their caption. Turn it on or off, and style it, in Media output.
The caption can include placeholders, filled in when each photo is taken. Tap one under the field to add it:
- `{date}` the event's date (or the day of the photo), `{date:dots}` as 17.10.26, `{date:long}` with the day name
- `{location}`, `{event}` (the event name), `{time}` (when the photo was taken)
- `{brand}` your business name, `{website}` your website
For example, `{event} · {location}` prints "Sam and Alex · The Old Barn".
The first event you create becomes the current one. Free has one event, so rename it for each party. Personal and White label can have as many as you like.
The event list
Each event shows its date or when it was made, its location and how many photos it holds.
- Make current marks the event happening now. Only one event is current, and it shows Current.
- The pencil edits the event's details.
- The bin deletes the event after asking first. Its photos stay on the device, no longer in an event. Any guest details collected for it are deleted too.
With guest details on (White label), an event also shows how many guests gave their details, with a button to export or delete them. With ZeroCapture Cloud on, it shows how many photos are online and has a cloud button for its QR codes, links and client gallery.
New photos
Add new photos to the current event (on by default) puts every new photo into the current event. It does nothing while no event is current.
Guest gallery
When guests open the gallery, show:
- Only current event (the default): photos in the current event only. With no event current, guests see every photo.
- Selected events: only the events you switch on below it.
- All events: every photo on the device, including photos in no event.
Free always shows all events. Choosing which events guests see needs Personal or White label. Events warns you if your choice would leave guests an empty gallery.
Tips
- Make a new event for each client, so one event's guests can't browse another's photos.
- Move photos between events in Photos.
- Set up an event before you run the booth. See Taking photos.
